• Applicants must have at least 30% of their gross monthly income available to cover rent.
• Social Security and government assistance income is grossed up by 25% to ensure fairness in the qualification process.
• A $35 credit and background check (paid online by the applicant) is required once a unit becomes available. This screening verifies landlord history, credit standing, and monthly income.
• We do not rent to individuals who owe money to the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, including outstanding balances with the Sault Tribe Housing Authority or any other tribal department.
• DeMawating Development is not a low-income or subsidized housing provider. Tenants must be able to pay rent and utilities independently and have strong references.

DeMawating Development

Located in Kincheloe Michigan, these properties were once used as housing for the Air Force base that was located there. This site offers two, three & four-bedroom single family homes & duplexes. The Guest House

This property provides fully furnished studio apartments designed for professionals. Units vary in size, accommodating one to three beds, and include amenities such as a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, basic cable, and internet. We are also in the process of adding small kitchenettes to some units and a coin-operated laundry facility.

Tamarack

Next to the Sault Tribe administration building and nestled in by the River of History Museum, we offer commercial rental space for small business owners. Public parking is available for free on Ashmun Street, increase your traffic in this central location in downtown Sault Sainte Marie.
