DeMawating Development is a property management company and an economic enterprise of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. We are located in Kincheloe, Michigan at the former Kincheloe Air Force Base and are centrally located between Sault Ste. Marie, MI and St. Ignace MI. The US Government deactivated Kincheloe Airforce Base in 1977 leaving 1100 vacant units. In 1994 Sault Tribe purchased several of the properties and DeMawating Development acquired 296 of them and has since grown. At this time we oversee 371 properties consisting of 204 Rental Units, 68 Self Storage Units and 99 Mobile Home Park lots. Kincheloe now has gas stations, restaurants and shopping and an Airport. The area is growing all the time. Not to mention the beauty of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. DeMawating offers 2, 3 and 4 bedroom duplexes, 3 and 4 bedroom single family homes.
